Participants of our Sovereign Hill Tour will spend the day engulfed by the “gold rush”. We will journey to the to the capital the Australian Goldfields, the town of Ballarat, where we will visit Sovereign Hill, an open air museum of gold mines, and delve into the atmosphere of the auriferous 1850s.
The streets of the town are filled with locals in 19th-century style clothing, as well as marching English soldiers and policemen chasing outlaws. The Sovereign Hill excursion includes a visit to a gold-bearing mine and Gold Museum. You will have the opportunity to participate in candle making and candy making, take a ride on an ancient coach, play a game of old bowling, make purchases in shops of the town of gold diggers and, of course, try your luck and pan for gold in a creek. You will also be able to have lunch in a 19th-century style café and try some traditional Devonshire tea.
The entry tickets to Sovereign Hill are not included in tour price – AU$55.5/25.0 per person (Adult/Child)
